Research is an integral part of closing the surgical gap. The global surgical burden of disease disproportionately affects people living in low- and middle-income countries. In order to address these burdens, we need to focus on collaborative research that addresses the context in which they exist. Then we can work together to create lasting solutions.

In order to practice medicine, first you need to study it. Medical students around the world do not have equal access to training opportunities, materials, and methods, and we need to close that gap. We work together with local medical professionals to create educational resources that are easily accessible and relevant to their needs.
