Run for Care that Stays – 5Km Charity Run
Run for better surgical care in Uganda!
On September 6, we’re running 5 kilometers around the Bosbaan in Amsterdam, and we’d love for you to join us. Together with Stichting Interplast Holland, we’re putting our feet in motion for something that goes far beyond the finish line: improving access to safe surgical care for people who need it most.
Today, 5 billion people worldwide lack access to safe, affordable surgical care. For many, a severe burn or an open fracture can lead to lifelong disability—or even death. We believe this can change by strengthening the healthcare professionals who provide that care.
Through the BASICS of Global Surgery program, we deliver sustainable, locally led education and training that builds lasting surgical capacity in several countries.
In Uganda, we work together with Interplast to support local hospitals: At Kiruddu National Referral Hospital, we focus on improving burn care, while at Mulago National Referral Hospital, we strengthen the treatment of open fractures. By providing standardized surgical courses, we help local teams build on the care they already provide—creating improvements that continue long after we return home.
Every shilling raised through this run goes directly to these training programs to support healthcare professionals making a difference every day.
Will you join us on September 6 for a 5K around the Bosbaan? Or would you consider supporting our mission with a donation?
However you choose to get involved, you’ll be helping save lives and strengthen surgical care for generations to come.
