Basics of Burn Care ebook

Nearly 11 million people are burned every year, making burn injuries one of the leading causes of disability, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The lack of access to adequate burn care can lead to devastating life-long hardships such as disability and social isolation, often resulting in economic loss and poverty.

Global Surgery Amsterdam has created a series of innovative ebooks on burn care; The Basics of Burn Care: Acute burn injuries and The Basics of Burn Care: Scars and contractures. Medical professionals in LMICs often lack access to training opportunities on specific medical subjects and high quality educational material that is relevant to their setting. Using the highest standards of burn care, combined with years of experience and research on burn care in Tanzania, Bangladesh, and the Netherlands GSA developed an interactive ebook, which gives immediate access to the top knowledge about burns.

The ebooks will soon be available. Please sign up for our newsletter to find out as soon as it becomes available.

Global Surgery Amsterdam (GSA) is an international research and education institute that works to develop sustainable solutions in global surgery.
