Myriam le Cosquino De Bussy
BSc, Medical Student
Myriam le Cosquino De Bussy is currently a master’s medical student at the University of Amsterdam. From even before the start of her studies, she had an interest in surgery, global health and also the importance of diversity within healthcare. This passion grew significantly during her waiting period (wachttijd) before her master’s. During that time she went to a hospital in Arusha, Tanzania to volunteer for a month. There, she spent a lot of time assisting in the OR and participating in medical outreaches, gaining insights in global healthcare settings, with the emphasis on surgery.
Eager to further explore her interest in global surgery, she joined GSA a year ago as a member of the promotion, communication and social media team. She is enthusiastic about raising awareness of GSA’s mission and looks forward to develop further within the organization while contributing to the work. Currently she is GSA’s Trainee of 2025 and is also coordinating the Dutch global health educational activities.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, engaging in creative activities, and challenging herself with new sports, with scuba diving and boxing being her current favorite.
